Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at justin@oldhickoryboatdocks.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We specialize in heavy-duty galvanized steel floating boat docks. We manufacture our own box truss frames in custom sizes right here in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. We also provide matching floats, gangways, boat lifts, and anchoring systems.

Galvanized steel is significantly stronger and more durable than aluminum, especially in rough water conditions like we have in our area. Our steel docks feature a taller 12" frame profile and are hot-dipped galvanized after fabrication for maximum corrosion resistance and a much longer lifespan. Aluminum also typically costs about 35% more on average for the same dock.

A basic flatform dock can typically be installed for under $20,000. A single-slip docks on Old Hickory Lake starts around $25,000 and can go up to $40,000 depending on size and options. Pricing depends on size, water depth, anchoring system, and accessories. Contact us for a free custom quote tailored to your property.

We typically stay a minimum of 6 weeks out in the off season(November through February), but we can easily get 12+ weeks out in the peak boating season.

We primarily serve Old Hickory Lake, Tim’s Ford Lake, Lake Barkley, Kentucky Lake, Tim's Ford Lake, and the Canye Fork and Rocky Rivers. We also can service most other lakes or private ponds throughout TN and KY.

We offer several options including spud poles, stiff arms, winch & cable systems, and concrete dead anchors — whichever works best for your water depth and lake conditions.

Yes. We handle full professional installation, including permitting assistance when needed. Our experienced crew delivers and installs your complete dock system.

With proper maintenance, our hot-dipped galvanized steel docks  can last 40+ years. Many experts consider hot dipped galvanizing to be a 75+ year coating in marine environments.

Absolutely. We repair and upgrade existing docks, replace floats, repair frames, and perform general dock maintenance across all local lakes.

We do not offer direct financing. Most of our customers interested in using financing typically persue a home equity line of credit. We can also offer payment for the dock via credit cards for a 2.5% fee allowing customers to often use credit card offers or points.
